My Story
I am a plant-lover, nature-lover, and animal-lover and my idea of bliss is a day spent walking in the woods. I grew up in the countryside in Ireland and spent many happy, healthy days as a child playing outside in nature.
My passion for natural health came as a result of my own personal journey with illness. Throughout my teenage years and early twenties, I experienced chronic digestive issues, nutritional deficiencies, and repeated infections. Antibiotic prescriptions and time were the solutions offered to remedy most issues but education, guidance and prevention were sadly not emphasised. When I was 23 while travelling in South East Asia, I contracted a viral illness, and when I didn’t recover from ongoing fatigue, digestive issues and chronic pain, I was eventually diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia.
I was prescribed pain medication and advised that I would likely be sick for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, this was only the beginning of a long period of debilitating illness where I received little support and guidance about my conditions in spite of having numerous appointments, examinations and tests with a range of medical practitioners.
I had been working in financial services but my career and life as I knew it were put on hold as I experienced long periods of being bedbound and unable to work. At this stage in my life, I was unwilling to accept a future where I would be unable to work or care for myself because of debilitating fatigue and pain. This experience with illness was a changing point in my life and slowly my life took a direction that I had not imagined. The diagnosis and lack of support sparked a desire in me to find the root cause of the illness myself. It was this search for answers which led me to natural medicine approaches and to good health again, and along with it came a passion for natural medicine and an individualised approach to health.
Through studying energy healing, yoga, meditation, and most recently naturopathic medicine, I studied the underlying physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health and the many possible contributing factors to disease and illness. I began working with clients in 2013 offering energy healing, intuitive readings, yogic philosophy and meditation teaching. Although I loved what I was doing, I felt I still wanted to know more about natural medicines. I undertook a Bachelor of Health Science degree in Naturopathy in 2016 which involved in-depth study of nutrition, herbal medicine, anatomy and physiology, pathology, biochemistry, pharmacology, psychology and counselling while also including traditional medicine wisdom. I completed my degree in 2020 and I now thoroughly enjoy combining a science-based natural medicine approach to health with traditional healing wisdom. I enjoy keeping up-to-date with the latest scientific research in natural medicine so I can provide the best evidence-based care for my patients.
I deeply understand how difficult it can be to live with illness and love to guide, support, and teach patients about natural health, so we can work together towards health goals. I am passionate about preventative medicine and know that a pro-active approach to health can prevent many conditions. The approach I take is individualised medicine, knowing that each person is unique and so too are their healthcare needs. I enjoy collaborating with doctors and other healthcare professionals to provide the best quality of treatment to suit each individual patient.
It’s important to me to live what I teach. I try to bring a lightness and joyfulness to the healing journey so you too can enjoy all of the benefits being healthy brings. It is a privilege and incredibly fulfilling for me to support you on your healing journey and I’m very much looking forward to meeting you.
